Wood Signs
Blasting wood is fun and easy! On the same lines as metal some woods only allow a surface etch.
Wood produces more unwanted blasted particles in you grit so care in sifting these particles must be taken. If you
want to create real wood signs to add to your resume' just poop down to the local big box store and pick up a
couple of pieces of lumber and get started.
Sand your wood signs first some 120 grit sandpaper before allpying your paint mask
stencil.

I made this wood sign with a redwood 2x12.I used 3mil paint mask,180 grit aluminum oxide
with pressure setings at 40 psi.
After sandblasting the wood sign I hand painted the engraved areas with Ronan Aquacote paint,After completing the paint I applied a coat of Ron-Glo UV Absorber .

Another wood sign I made for my house was sandblasted out of a redwood 1x6.Painted after
engraving and sealed with Ron-Glo UV
Absorber .
